In many Marathi cookbooks from India, Malabar (wild) mace is frequently misidentified as "mugwort" or "mogwort." While this spice bears the botanical name Myristica malabarica, the label "mugwort" properly belongs to Artemisia vulgaris. To avoid this confusion within Maharashtrian culinary literature, it is best practice to use the Romanized local names: Rampatri in Hindi or Maipatri in Marathi.
